TMZ's Michael Hundgen called in to "The Ralphie Radio Show" on Tuesday night (01.22) with breaking news regarding the death of Heath Ledger. The Grammy-nominated actor was found dead in the bed of his apartment Tuesday afternoon. Ledger may best be known for his co-starring role in the 2005 film, "Brokeback Mountain." Heath Ledger is survived by his parents and a 2-year old daughter. The actor was seperated from her mother, Michelle Williams.

Heath Ledger was 28 years old.

UPDATE: tmz reports that pills were found all around his bed. furthermore, the entertainment news site says police believe the death was accidental.

tmz retracted a story that the apartment authorities found the actor in belonged to mary-kate olsen.

"Heath Ledger was found dead Tuesday at a downtown Manhattan residence, and police said drugs may have been a factor. He was 28. NYPD spokesman Paul Browne said Ledger had an appointment for a massage at the Manhattan apartment believed to be his home. The housekeeper who went to let him know the masseuse had arrived found him dead at 3:26 p.m.
The Australian-born actor was nominated for an Oscar for "Brokeback Mountain," where he met his wife, actress Michelle Williams, in 2005. Ledger and Williams had lived in Brooklyn and had a daughter, Matilda, until they split up last year."
