EXCLUSIVE: Estelle Aspires For Fashion Line, Divulges More Album Details

Someone does her hair, someone does her makeup – and the British-born artist admits her total prep-time can ring in as long as two hours. She’s a Grammy-award winner, and is probably coming to a red carpet near you soon, if she hasn’t graced it already. But despite all the commotion, it seems singer/fashionista Estelle Darlings is still pretty modest.

“I think it will happen,” the “American Boy” songstress said on the prospects of one day creating a fashion line. “I just don’t want it to be like, because I’m me. I want it to actually be a good line, yunno, something great. So, I think I’m going to have to go and do a real internship.”

Perhaps she could intern at People’s Revolution? She did appear for a few seconds in an episode of Kell On Earth. Somewhere in the lower 48, Ryan Seacrest and MTV are scrambling for the production credits on this one.

Anyways, Darlings does have a bit of a start on her fashion line – a jewelry line with Rachel Roy. Pieces range from $30 to $195, and can be found at some Macy’s. Estelle was conscience of the retail prices.

“I’m very much in to quality, but I still like my cheapies,” she admitted. “The whole point with (the jewelry line) was to do something with great quality that was quite cheap at the same time.”

Darlings also revealed that she tries not to spend a lot of money on “eye-lashes and product-things,” while noting that she is sent a lot of items based on her look.

Her third studio LP, All Of Me, is scheduled for a fall release. The first single, the David Guetta-produced "Freak", features Kardinal Offishall and is available online now.

EXCLUSIVE: Jordin Sparks Hadn't Heard "Let The Music Play" Until "S.O.S."

Of course, Jordin Sparks never thought that she would sample the 1983 hit “Let The Music Play” by Shannon for a track of her own. Before using the song, Sparks hadn’t even heard of it.

“I thought it was going to be really cool, just a different kind of experiment for me because I’ve never done like, a dance track before,” said Sparks, who called in to The Ralphie Radio Show from Los Angeles. “I played it for my mom and she was like, ‘Oh my god, I love this song!’ and I was like, ‘What are you talking about?’ And she was like, ‘This is ‘Let The Music Play’ by Shannon!’ and I was just like, ‘Oh my goodness.’”

Sparks’ mom gave birth to Jordin 6 years after Shannon’s song burst on to the music scene. “S.O.S. (Let The Music Play)” is now Jordin’s second single from her sophomore LP, Battlefield. It’s the second album released since Sparks won American Idol Season 6 – at age 17. She is the youngest winner of the reality show in its seven season history. Now, at age 19, she is not only an Idol champ, but an American Music Awards winner, a Grammy nominee, and an opener for such acts as Alicia Keys, the Jonas Brothers, and Britney Spears. It’s quite the diverse roster of acts, and Sparks noted that there were some differences between touring with the Jo-Bros and Britney.

“On the Jonas crew, we were all around the same age,” said Sparks. “So we all got along, just hanging out, doing different things like that. With Britney, she’s trying to get back on track, and the people around her are definitely taking care of her. I did get to see her, but she’s Britney Spears. She’s busy doing her V.I.P. meet-and-greets and adding new songs and choreography and stuff, but it was amazing to be able to see her back on the stage.”

Certainly Sparks learned, both what to do and what not to do, from watching Spears so closely. Both entered mainstream as teenagers (Spears released “…Baby One More Time” when she was almost 16). Both now must stay conscience of the tabloids, blogs, and paparazzi. Spears and Sparks have even both posed for their own “Got Milk?” campaigns. But any type of downward spiral from Sparks seems highly unlikely, judging by a refreshingly honest answer she gave to a listener-generated question on The RRS about her look.

“The Hollywood obsession with being skinny and everything, it’s so crazy,” Sparks said. “For me, I’m just all about staying healthy. I mean, yeah I’ll work out and, yeah I’ll eat healthy. But it’s not like, to diet or to lose weight. Yunno, it’s to stay healthy and not get sick, like I did so many times last year.”

Jordin even went as far as to say that some of her detractors refer to her as “fat,” but does not waver in her stance on her image – citing her taller, curvier frame as the reason why she may not look the same as other artists or actresses. But clearly it isn’t just Sparks’s figure that sets her apart from others, but rather her talent, confidence, and perspective on young women and their self-image.

fashion smashion.

yo yo.

all set in my black dress shirt, silver tie, skinny jeans, and brand new converse sneakers for tonight at club x. wanna see the outfit? under 21 but above 18 and wanna enter fo free? call 877.971.wbht before 9 to get on the guest list. no, not t-pain plus three, but you plus one.

more fashion stuff... btw, you will soon figure out i have an addiction called shopping. went to the mall - and fell into the gap, for my first time ever! i know, lots of firsts this week. anywho, bought a pair of jeans for seven bucks! they're the slim morrison fit. the wash is pretty dope too. these will certainly debut over the weekend.

i then went to express and purchased a $40 tie. 'cause i make a lot of sense. it's a nice tie though (it's just black).

more celeb stuff before i head to da club. holler.
ralphie.

better late than never.

it took me 22 years, but earlier today while driving around wilkes-barre, i finally conformed with pop culture and all things cool.

yes, i purchased my first pair of chuck taylor converse sneakers.

they look exactly like the above. black with white canvas and laces. prolly will not be rocking the chuckie t's with shorts, but will definitely wear them with every pair of jeans i own. these bad boys could debut as early as thursday night's club x at the woodlands.

what took me so long? really don't have an answer. i've been preoccupied with other forms of footwear... from nike and adidas to steve madden and diesel. and don't get me wrong, i still wear my free's when i run.
and my steve maddens and other shoes out on the town. but the converse canvas with jeans, a rolled-up-sleeves-dress shirt, and loosened tie - screams trendy yet sophisticated. cool yet classy. badass yet...

well you get the idea.

the price is also appealing. with tax - a mere $32. where you buying trendy shoes from that cost under $35 now-a-days?

exactly.

anywho - just thought i'd let you in my little shoebox of excitement. now if you don't mind, i'm going to scurry off to other things...
