next time you paraphrase (read: steal) my work in the same publication in which it appeared, please try and mind one of the following rules...
- if, in fact, you lifted this fact from my column, please source me. - however, giving you the benefit of the doubt, if you were completely oblivious that i scooped your asinine attempt at writing a weak ago in the weekender, please use enough intelligence to actually read "the ralphie report" - so that further discrepencies can be avoided.
thanks, ralphie. --- for those wondering exactly what i'm talking about, please - see the evidence below. first, my column from 2.27. next, jumpin' johnny's, from this week's weekender.
yes! my homie kane, who hosts a morning show in washington d-sizzle, and is a fellow syracuse alum, pissed off ashlee simpson. apparently he asked questions that were too personal, and she acted "drunk" during the interview.
"“Jamie told Kevin that Britney handled the visit well. She actually did cry, but that was only because Sean cried when she took them from Kevin,” says the insider.
Britney has her own way of trying to soothe her sons. "Britney always sings to them. She loves lullabies. In fact, before the split, both Britney and Kevin sang to the boys every night."
The boys are said to be confused when it comes to their mom, which is another reason why either Jamie Spears or a psychologist is present during the visits."
97 BHT's Ralphie Aversa scores an exclusive interview with Bob Porter - a west coast millionaire who is prepared to offer Senator Hillary Clinton over a million dollars to pose for a set of, "nude, artistic, tasteful photos." You gotta listen and hear his reasoning, and Ralphie's response!
Harrison Forbes, dog trainer and host of the nationally syndicated radio and television show "Pet Talk", says that there are a few steps a woman and her prospective mate can take to help Fido accept that there is a new member in the pack.
~~ "The easiest route to a dog's heart is through the belly". He suggests the new boyfriend feed the dog for a few days. In fact, letting your boyfriend hand-feed your canine will be a bonding experience for both of them, an experience that will especially help your four-legged friend learn to trust and respect your new beau.
~~ Next, hand over the leash, Frisbee or ball. "It falls on the man to take time and effort to bond with the dog". However, if your dog is really standoffish, go slowly. "...If a dog is fearful or suspicious, don't try to shove your friendship on him. Dogs have a real antenna for somebody invading their personal space. They react better if you don't get in their face and act smoochy-smoochy."
~~ The trainers says you should always remember that dogs do not like to feel cornered, especially by strangers who are invading their territory. In fact, since the first meeting sets the tone, you may want to have the introduction between your dog and man to take place on neutral ground, like a park. "Just be calm, walk together, and have a couple of treats in your hand".If a man is afraid of dogs, the woman should arrange for a first introduction that is focused on another activity (like watching a movie) to diffuse the nervous energy. Try to keep the conversation light, Forbes says, and have a handful of dog snacks nearby.
~~ Finally, that age-old question: Can a woman really share her bed with man and beast? Yes, but maybe not right away. "On the first night, take your dog to a boarding kennel or another part of the house". Just make sure the dog knows he is not being punished. "Dogs are pretty willing followers. If it just becomes the norm and his scent is in the room, he'll sense the change and not fight it so much."
our friends at tmz snagged a copy of kanye west's rider for the upcoming "glow in the dark tour." a rider is basically a binding agreement with a set of demands set forth by the artist.
some of kanye's demands are funny. like the connect 4 game in the dressing room. or the guitar hero.

that's right, 'cause i just don't care. i'm spinning the new madonna/justin/timbaland track - "4 minutes" - tonight on my show. listen for it in between 7p & 9p. and check tomorrow's ralphie report in the weekender for my 2 cents on the track. holler.
a day of "10" lists i suppose... starpulse just released this. who's the prince of metroville? yup, ya boy, jake gyllenhaal. fyi, ryan seacrest checks in at a poor number 8. i would've thought top 5 for sure. and zac efron makes the list, but i don't believe he should count because he's all but outed as a gay.
an fyi, just in case you're trying to break free from that relationship of yours...
"...There are 3 areas that you can see a possible change - his personal behavior, his phone behavior and his computer behavior.
1. Check his cell phone bill. Is there suspicious numbers with long duration, that he is doing after just leaving your house or just before coming home in the evening, that could be a sign of cheating. 2. Check his credit card statement. Are there amounts that you do not know about that seem suspicious restaurant visits, hotel nights or travels. Is there any gifts purchased for a women, lipsticks, jewelry, flowers... but you did not receive the gift. 3. Go through his wallet for unexplained receipts. Usually cheating men has a lot of cash on them, they do not want to leave trace on the credit card statement. 4. Check his ATM withdrawals, is he carrying a lot more cash than usual. Check the transaction record for where and when he took money out. Should he be somewhere else when the withdrawals are done? 5. Check the mileage on his car. His driving pattern might change, is he putting a lot of extra miles on the car. Is he spending more money on gas, than usual? Monitor your husband or boyfriend for a couple of weeks. Keep track of the mileage. Also monitor when he leaves for work and comes home from work. 6. Does he say that he has to work overtime? Check his paycheck is the overtime not showing up on his paycheck... this is a sign. 7. Check the phone. Press the re-dial on his phone or "star"69. This way you can see who he has been calling. 8. If you suspect that the cheating might even be going on in your own home. Make false plans to go out of town, stay with a friend or at a hotel. Then watch your house from a distant. Have a non-violent plan for what you want to do if your nightmare does come true. Be smart about it. 9. If you have a phone number that you would like to know whom that belongs to use a phone lock up service. It will give you the name, address and personal information. 10. Computer spy ware, if you think your husband is chatting or emailing somebody he is not suppose to install a spy ware program that monitors all computer and internet activities, it will tell you what sites he has been on, who he is emailing, what is in the emails..."

apparently tony romo didn't receive that memo sent to all men once they've hit puberty.
no, not the one about wearing a glove before love. the one about never, ever, ever - comparing your ex's.
of course, jessica simpson is releasing a country cd (ala jewel, bon jovi), but romo believes it'll be hard for simpson to win over the country crowd, especially with his ex, carrie underwood, runnin' that show.

dr. roosevelt "rick" wright is a mentor of mine. i met the professor of television, radio, and film in the beginning of my freshman year at syracuse university. after attending the newhouse school of public communications convocation, i soon realized that if you wanted to learn radio, you wanted to befriend dr. wright. after all, he's the only professor currently working in commercial radio, hosting a sunday afternoon show on WPHR-FM - Power 106.9.
he helped me get my foot in the door, literally, at clear channel radio in syracuse, ny. the advice and insight he's shared with me, both on a personal and professional level, are priceless.
i couldn't have asked for a better person to lead me through the successes and failures, as well as the trials and tribulations of starting a career in broadcasting.
on sunday, dr. wright uncharacteristically did not arrive at the clear channel syracuse studios on time for his 1PM show. coworkers, friends, and family tried to contact him, but to no avail, no one knew where the doc was.
turns out, dr. wright had enlisted the help of medical doctors. after slipping and falling on a brick walkway outside of the building, doc suffered an asthma attack. he crawled to his car, climbed inside, and drove himself to a hospital.
after being released from the medical center, dr. wright drove back to clear channel. expecting many guests during his show, as well as questions from a worried staff, the good doctor wanted to make sure all loose ends were tied up, as if expected to tie those ends immediately after his release.
although shocking and unfortunate, this story isn't surprising to those who are close with dr. wright. he loves radio, and he loves people. furthermore, doc's will and fortitude have been tried and tested on many occasions. he's a retired navy captain, and was the first african-american professor hired to the newhouse staff.
thankfully, dr. wright is okay and now resting comfortably. i'm gratefulness to God that no further physical harm was caused by the accident. and i'm reminded how strong the person i leaned on the most during college is, both figuratively and literally.
(below are two segments i hosted with dr. wright since leaving syracuse for nepa).
found these on myspacetv, thought i'd share them... now that "love song" is uber-popular, i wonder if sara still waits to hear it on the radio in whatever town she's playing in.
"Hey guys, As most of you already know, we have cancelled the rest of our UK/Europe RIOT Tour. First of all, we want to say we are so sorry for letting all of you down. We feel terrible about it and really didn’t expect for this to happen. It probably doesn’t sound like much but we just hate that we won’t get to play this show for those of you who had hoped to see it.
There are a lot of internal issues that have been going on in this band for quite a while now. A lot of it started right around the time we were gearing up for the RIOT Tour in the US. We were able to fight through all of it for this long but unfortunately we weren’t able to keep it together long enough to make it through ’til the end of this tour. We really feel that taking this time is going to give us a chance to get away and work out our personal issues at home and on our own terms. We just aren’t willing to risk the life of our band over one tour. That probably sounds terrible right now, to say that finishing a week of shows wasn’t worth it… but if we can use this next month wisely then we will be a lot healthier for the tours ahead. We hope that - even though it might be hard to understand - that you guys can support us at this time.
Maybe one day we will tell the whole story but for now, just know that all five of us are going to work so hard to get it right. You deserve that and we deserve to make this last as long as possible - and to enjoy every second of it. We love you guys so much. If you could pray for us or just keep us in your thoughts it would be really helpful. You guys have gotten us so far and been the best motivators since day one. We are so sorry for the trouble we caused you guys who bought tickets, fan club members and to all the promoters and venues that we won’t be there to put on a show for. We are extremely sorry to New Found Glory and all their fans who wanted to put on and see a show and who we’ve let down. And lastly, to Lost Alone.
We will keep you guys updated. Love,Hayley, Jeremy, Josh, Zac and Taylor"
their cd is sooooo good too - like 11 tracks of misery business with varying tempos. ugh.
no posts yesterday because when i signed on to my computer at work, someone at our company decided it was a swell idea to block "blogger.com" from employee access.
sweet.
i'll throw a couple posts up just in case i have the same problems today, although i've already informed the powers that be of my uneasiness regarding the situation.
last week news broke of blake fielder-civil suffering from a heroin overdose in prison. it poses the question - how does one go about obtaining illegal drugs while incarcerated?
for starters, a famous wife helps.
apparently, blake swapped signed winehouse photos with his fellow inmates in exchange for the goods. read more about the alleged transactions here.
"1. If you have a fever of any kind especially over 100.6 — this is generally cause for concern. 2. If you're coughing a lot and producing phlegm with the cough. Also, pay attention to the color of the phlegm. If it's dark yellow, green or brown — it could be signs of a bronchial or lung infection. 3. If you're suffering from achy joints and you have the chills. 4. If you have a fever and settings of a rash. This often signals a very highly contagious infection such a chickenpox. 5. Any signs of infection after a recent trip outside the country should also warrant a trip to the doctor."
furthermore, the article states that working through a sickness can actually be counterproductive, and cost your company more in the long run.
gotta love the part of this video where the former paparazzo tells the photogs, "its a surprise the extreme you have to go to to make a buck these days."
what's more "extreme" - stalking someone with a camera for a living, or stalking someone with a camera to try and date them and make money?

"Rihanna got into a fender-bender outside Universal's party, where another driver rammed her vehicle. The scrape didn't stop the Grammy winner from heading to Entertainment Weekly's party for Island/Def Jam chief L.A. Reid. As soon as she walked in, Rihanna made a beeline for Chris Brown, the boyfriend she's been trying to keep under wraps. "They were touching and whispering in each other's ears," says our spy. "Then Jay-Z and Beyonce walked in. Jay was saying hello to everybody except them. Rihanna seemed upset. She walked over to his table and looked like she was reading him the riot act. A few minutes later, she and Chris left together in her car." Jay and Rihanna have both denied rumors of a past fling, and he and Beyonce did invite Rihanna to an intimate dinner they threw Thursday."
not too long ago, a slew of celebrities were named in a ongoing investigation into the distribution of steroids throughout the country. 50 cent, wyclef, timbaland, and mary j. blige were all mentioned in the latest report.
last night, timbaland did nothing to help bolster his image. the producer hosted a grammy party for people magazine, but the night ended with a thud resonating stronger than any of timbaland's beats. the virginia-native lashed out in a profanity-laced rant due to security at the club not letting in some of his friends.

catch this in the weekender on wednesday... On Sunday night, Amy Winehouse reaffirmed her position as an artist that can perform, inspire, and revolutionize what we know as contemporary music. The British singer won 5 of the 6 Grammy awards the Academy nominated her for, including Record of the Year and Song of the Year for the track that may define Wino’s career – Rehab.
Due to problems with renewing her Visa, as well as the ongoing rehab stint, Winehouse performed and accepted one of the five awards via satellite in London’s Riverside Studios.
Here on WYOU, we watched the Amy Winehouse that America fell in love with over the summer. The Amy Winehouse with swagger and confidence. The one that appeared to scoff at you while belting out the memorable, authentic, “No, No, No!” when they asked her to go to rehab.
The intervention of her father, Mitch, led her to a different response when they proposed another stint in rehab last month, just after video surfaced of the bee-hived singer as a blond, smoking what appeared to be a crack pipe.
“I’m useless to you anyway now, I just took about six valium,” slurred Winehouse in the grainy footage.
With a Grammy debut that ended with five pieces of hardware and one brilliant performance, it’s doubtful that people will regard Winehouse in such a dreadful light for the time being.
Now the blogs and vlogs have new material – like her reaction on live TV to winning Record of the Year. Overcome with shock, Winehouse embraced band members and her parents, thanking them while also offering up her second shout-out of the night to locked-up husband Blake Fielder-Civil .
“For my Blake incarcerated, and for London! This is for London!” Winehouse emotionally proclaimed.
This success may be for her home city, but by all means, you can’t deny the British vocalist’s All-American comeback story.
DON’T WORRY – OTHER ARTISTS WON TOO
- Prior to the show’s start, Kanye West already coroneted himself a Grammy winner. Yet, for the third time, the Album of the Year Grammy escaped him, awarded to jazz musician Herbie Hancock.
Despite this, West still stole and extended the spotlight. While accepting his Grammy for Best Rap Album, producers began to play the “wrap-up” music right before the Chicago-rapper entered into a tribute to his mother. West politely asked the Academy to kill the music, and they obliged.
Kanye also paid homage to his late mother, Dr. Donda West, earlier in the night with his performance of Hey Mama. West won four Grammys.
- Vince Gill earned himself a little street-cred Sunday night. After receiving the Best Country Album Grammy from Beatle-legend Ringo Starr, Gill offered up the following on stage:
“I just got an award given to me by a Beatle,” gleamed Gill. “Have you had that happen yet Kanye?”
West smiled it off. After all, no egos would be injured in the production of this awards show.
- Reading’s Taylor Swift appeared in her first Grammy’s, presenting an award and losing Best New Artist to Winehouse.

a fresh two hours outta the ucla medical center... i understand she literally has photogs up her rear but really, there HAS TO BE a way to prevent this...
are you ready for this? the above person is the current version of...
jesse mccartney! but wait, this gets more intriguing. remember when i talked with drake bell, and he told me that the whole "zac efron, vanessa hudgens relationship" was "a front,"? well, what led us to that discussion was drake telling me he chills with jesse all the time...
perez hilton is a complete tool for not asking spencer and heidi about all the "fakeness" on the hills, all the "exclusive" news that he so proudly writes about on his blog.
spencer pratt's comments on the reason for people commenting on heidi montag's new video (a video so bad, i won't even link to it) are laughable. clearly, spencer and perez are chillin' in the same shed.
poor heidi montag. such a pretty girl - with such a douchebag bf.
banks, always looking to provide the most compelling content to her audience, invited the host of "moment of truth" on her show. the segment ended with banks taking a polygraph test.
His partner lacks a sense of sexual adventure (68 percent) or doesn’t seem to enjoy sex (61 percent). Consequently, he has become bored with sex and the lack of newness. Funny enough, though, these men conveniently ignore the fact that they themselves are not bringing any originality into the bedroom. Instead, they are choosing to blame their partner for a lack of adventure and sexual enjoyment.
He’s interested in sex with others, but not his wife (48 percent). Men indicated that they were sexual beings, or would like to be. The majority masturbated, which is often an indicator that a person does not have a sexual disorder, per se. So what’s the problem? In many cases, familiarity breeds contentment, which makes for boredom.
He’s angry with her (44 percent). These men felt criticized, controlled, undervalued, and/or insignificant by their partners. As a result, they shut down as she became more and more of a “bully.” This cycle was ongoing: She’s critical. He shuts down emotionally. She gets even more critical. He becomes even more withdrawn. ... Regardless, in this war of the roses, no one’s showing any kind of love.
His lover has put on a significant amount of weight (38 percent). Somehow, “There’s more of me to love” wasn’t the response he had in mind when he once gasped, “I can’t get enough of you!” Ironically, a man putting on weight was irrelevant to this turnoff. But if his lover put on weight, he no longer viewed her as attractive. His own obesity, however, did diminish his libido.
He prefers watching porn online (25 percent). Between the variety, no performance pressure, no emotion, no foreplay, no talking, and no criticism, he’d rather connect with the Internet. A major danger in this: His fantasy world is replacing his actual sex life.
why dance around it - northeast pa simply didn't live up to my expectations on mardi gras.
i thought about it last night towards the conclusion of my show - many colleges, nice weather, no midterms/exams... this should shape up to be an intriguing night.
the show ended just shy of midnight. i jetted home, grabbed a bud light from the fridge, gathered up beads from a club gig in syracuse, and waited for marino to swing through. due to the proximity of our first destination from my apartment, he became the night's driver by default.
and the beads were just for show - these things were two years old. our first and back-up plans consisted of bars, and i'm taken. so clearly, even if i did part with any plastic necklaces, i wouldn't have made any girls "work" for them (typing that made me feel dirty).
marino though... well, why would i speak for him?
beer boys it was. best college bar for two years straight in the weekender. right by king's. your classic beer-serving establishment.
my introduction to the dive wasn't flattering. we were one and done from bb.
although, the staircase to the immediate left of the entrance and the trap door inside the small, enclosed bar were quite amusing. i think a bunch of rowdy college drunks could turn the spot into a fun time - and i look forward to a possible return on a friday or saturday. but fat supa dupa tuesday night just wasn't meant for beer boys.
next stop: friday's. the back-up plan. the go-to-bar in the wilkes-burr. and it was dese. made it in time for half price apps - and after a couple order of boneless buffalo wings, extra crispy - paired with a game of beer pong on the video touchscreen - we deemed the night a "non-failure."
but eventful? far from it. maybe i should've taken advantage of those fat tuesdays i spent on the su hill...
as an "msnbc on campus" alum, i feel obligated to watch this network - not to say that i don't enjoy their election coverage. always forward thinking, you can now embed msnbc into blogs. how fun. click below.
- the beginning, she's clearly looking for a cue to start lip-syncing... - the high notes, when these parts first hit fox cuts away to players... - 1:57 - i think she slips there. or she has a vocal talent beyond human comprehension.
i'll always have a special connection with these two because i broke the news on perezhilton.com (scroll down, half way on the right) over the summer that they were still dating.
although i'm sure you'd much rather have a connection with one of them, exclusively.
after officially breaking up back in october, the couple is now together again.
marino and i, and maybe aj, and possibly even danny waters if he so decides to pick up his phone - are looking for a place to party tonight for mardi gras. where will the big mardi gras celebration in nepa be taking place? we'd prefer somewhere in the greater wilkes-barre area - but if you could guarantee me the place is poppin', i'll drive to scranton... possibly even dickson city.
answering this question could score you a couple free drinks and perhaps even a quick mention on the radio. i didn't just type that.
